Following last week’s A-Level results release, the IGCSE examination grades for 2025 Summer were officially announced this week.
WAS Hangzhou pupils achieved A*-A grades in almost 43% of all examinations, maintaining steady improvement from last year. Notably, nearly 19% of grades were A*, doubling UK national averages (where GCSE A*-A stands at approximately 21%).
This year saw exceptional performances in liberal arts: History and Spanish achieved 100% A* grades; First Language English received 67% A*-A grades; First Language Chinese achieved 100% A*-B while Art and Design secured nearly 90% A*-B.
*Mathematics(fast-track): enables pupils to complete the curriculum within an accelerated timeframe.
Additional Mathematics: covers content spanning from grade 7 to 12 in the Chinese system, tailored for pupils with a strong grounding in mathematics.
This summer celebrated milestone achievements, including grade 10 pupils T. Zhu and A. Yin, who attained straight A*-A grades across all subjects. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to the founding pupils who achieved outstanding results in these examinations. Having laid a robust academic foundation at WAS Hangzhou since joining us in grade 7, they now embark on even greater aspirations from this springboard.
