The graduation ceremony marks not only a reflection on the past but also a prospective gaze into the future.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n

Each graduate is the protagonist in their own life, and their stories converge at WASHZ, collectively composing a drama rich with laughter and tears. On this stage, they transform into “dream chasers” , with each breakthrough and achievement casting a brilliant light on their journey.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

In the near distance lies a brighter future. The legacy of WASHZ will inspire them to hold fast to their dreams, fearless in the face of challenges and failures, and always moving towards the light.<\/p>\n

Graduation is not only a farewell but a celebration of this shared journey of growth and a bestowment of blessings upon the adventures that lie ahead.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The 2024 Graduation Ceremony of WASHZ commenced with an exquisite apiano performance by graduate representative Erin Li.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
<\/section>\n
As a witness to the growth of the graduates throughout their journey, Mr. Tig Mooney, the founding Executive head of WASHZ, was deeply moved. The first cohort of graduates holds extraordinary significance, as their achievements have laid the foundation for the school’s ongoing pursuit of excellence. In his address, Mr. Mooney honoured not only the graduates’ outstanding academic accomplishments but, more importantly,\u00a0to the excellent qualities behind them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n
<\/section>\n
Student representative from G11, Julia Zheng, stood beside Mr. Mooney, providing translation for him. Beyond this role, Julia also joined graduate Ariel Li in receiving the COBIS Exceptional Academic Achievement Award at the ceremony from Mr. Mooney and the Executive Head of Upper School Richard Bumford.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

At the ceremony, distinguished graduates Ariel Li, Kang Li, and Catherine Fang delivered speeches on behalf of their peers.<\/p>\n

Ariel exhibits a profound fascination with mathematics, Kang displays a deep infatuation with the field of neuroscience, and Catherine harbors a fervent passion for the arts. Embodying the spirit of every pupil at WASHZ, they each possess unique talents and aspirations. Within an environment that fosters openness and inclusivity, they have optimized their developmental potential; immersed in a culture that champions excellence, they have exerted their utmost effort and dedication.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Kang and Catherine unexpectedly mentioned disappointment and rejection in their speeches. Behind their successes, they too have experienced moments of frustration and regret. Yet, it is their determination to always try one more time in the face of adversity that has forged their resilient and courageous character traits.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
This corresponded to the phrase in Ariel’s speech\u2014There are great adventures and opportunities ahead of us. On the path to chasing dreams, only courage accompanies us along the way.\u00a0Let us honour the graduates who dare to challenge!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The pinnacle of the ceremony was the stage walk.<\/p>\n

In an orderly procession, the graduates were called to the stage to accept their diplomas, conferred by Mr. Tig Mooney, and were also presented with bouquets by Mr. Bruce Jia. The inaugural chapter of their lives was captured in this moment.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Then, the ceremony concluded with the traditional cap tossing. As the graduates removed their caps\u00a0honouring the future<\/strong>, they threw away all uncertainties and troubles in the past. Upon catching their caps, they embrace a future filled with substantial anticipation and promise.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

May you shine like stars across the sky amassing energy in your fields, until you burst forth with even more brilliant radiance.<\/strong><\/p>\n
