On 2nd November, warm Autumn sunshine marked the return of the long-awaited 2024 AbbeyFest.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of families gathered on our campus, immersing themselves in over 40 musical performances ranging from classical to contemporary,\u00a0and exploring dozens of unique market booths. The event was a musical extravaganza, a culinary feast, and a joyous journey.<\/p>\n

This year, young musicians from our sister schools in Changzhou and Nanjing took to the stage, delivering impeccable performances that\u00a0earned waves of applause from the audience.<\/p>\n

Our music transcended regional differences and brought people closer together, embodying the strong sense of belonging that the Wycombe Abbey community proudly cherishes.\u00a0It was a testament to the power of music to unite us all, creating a sense of community that was palpable throughout the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year’s AbbeyFest featured a special guest \u2013 Zo\u00eb Capps, an international exchange scholar from the UK, one of ten scholars joining WASHZ through the Wycombe Abbey International Scholarship Programme.<\/p>\n

During the Inaugural Event, Zo\u00eb\u2019s stunning rendition of the hit Chinese song “Light Years Away” stunned the audience.<\/p>\n

At the AbbeyFest, Zo\u00eb participated in three performances, and her enchanting voice added a vibrant touch to this celebration of international connections.<\/p>\n

AbbeyFest was designed to be a celebration of diversity. Alongside popular songs that are well-known to the audience, there were performances of classical music, FWA Choir, dance, and martial arts, showcasing a variety of styles. The open and inclusive atmosphere of the stage, blending Eastern and Western elements, provided the audience with a multifaceted artistic experience, ensuring there was something for everyone.<\/p>\n

Beyond the spectacular performances, the open-air market was another AbbeyFest highlight.<\/p>\n

Over 60 market booths were arranged in succession. As guests wandered through, they were greeted by an array of enticing aromas. From local delicacies to Western gourmet dishes, each flavour tantalised the taste buds.<\/p>\n

Cultural and creative goods drew visitors’ attention with their distinctive curios, creative ornaments, and handcrafted items.<\/p>\n

An equestrian area next to the market gave visitors the fun of interacting with horses. Visitors could enjoy a leisurely carriage ride around the campus, basking in the gentle breeze and warm sun.<\/p>\n

Families spread picnic mats on the sports field and sat together,\u00a0savouring food or enjoying the music. The wonderful family time they\u00a0added a warm and heartfelt atmosphere to the event.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main venue, six check-in spots were set up around the campus, allowing guests who collected stamps at them all to participate in a lucky draw.<\/section>\n
An art exhibition of dozens of pupil artworks were displayed in the common areas. These works, varying in style and technique, showcase\u00a0WASHZ pupil’s passion for art.In front of the art exhibition, an entire graffiti wall allowed pupils to unleash their creativity.<\/p>\n

As the grand prizes were awarded one by one, the interactive atmosphere on site reached its peak, making every guest feel like an integral part of the event.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
